Biodata

Dr. Sabri Bandyopadhyay did her MA in Economic and completed her doctoral research at Jadavpur University, Kolkata. Her area of interest is migration and rural development. She has published widely, and has worked in a number of projects in different capacities. She teaches economics.

The paper “Migration in the North-Eastern Region of India during 1901-91 : Size, Trend, Reasons and Impact” (with Debesh Chakraborty), has been adjudged as the best paper on substantive aspects of population studies published in Demography India during 1999-2000 and accordingly Prof. K. Srinivasan Award for the year 2001 was conferred.
