Human Rights Initiative by Defenders Advocating for You
The Centre was established in the month of October 2014, to use the legal system to advance human rights in and around its area of functioning. HRIDAY works at the grass-roots development and social movements to enforce the rights of poor marginalised people and to challenge oppression, exploitation and discrimination against any group or individual on the grounds of caste, gender, disability, age, religion, language, ethnic group, sexual orientation, and health, economic or social status. Its recent endeavours include a health run on World International AIDS Day, blood donation camp, a symposium on Juvenile Justice and plantation drive in the mammoth 66 acres of the campus of NUSRL, Ranchi.
This student-run cell of NUSRL consists of Prof. (Dr.) B.C. Nirmal, the Vice –Chancellor, as the Chief -Patron, who is commonly known as the Human Rights Crusader of India. Under his guidance, all the socially active students of NUSRL collectively formed HRIDAY and we wish to take our endeavours to the sky because we believe that SKY IS THE LIMIT. Apart from its recent achievements the members of HRIDAY, individually, had done some tremendous plausible social works, which includes adoption of a village & naming it litigation free, street plays on Blood Donation Awareness, Legal Aid/awareness camps, RTI workshops in different schools and many more.
